Hi, I’m Agana, a.k.a. The Nimble Birder. I started Birding in Edinburgh to share my love for Edinburgh’s natural spaces through my long-time passion for birdwatching. Edinburgh is an incredible city to visit, and if you love nature, it can be so much more than castles and closes. So come along for a relaxed and friendly birding adventure, led by someone who genuinely loves sharing Scotland’s birdlife with others.​

One of the joys of birding around Edinburgh is how quickly the scenery can change. On a city walk, you might be listening for Great-spotted Woodpeckers, watching Goldfinches feeding, or picking out Coal Tits flitting through the branches.​

Head out to East Lothian and suddenly you are on wide open coasts, looking at waders, gulls, and seabirds along the shore. Trips to the Borders and the Highlands give you a real taste of Scotland’s wild side, with chances for raptors like Red Kite, Merlin, or Osprey in season.​

Every trip is led by me, I have been birding since 2009 and has been privileged to watch birds in the United Kingdom, The United States, Denmark, Spain, Italy, The Gambia, Nigeria, and Ghana. I studied zoology in Ghana and I bring my passion for conservation into the way I guide. I love for meeting people and learning about difference personal and cultural experiences of nature! With me, you can expect enthusiastic, knowledgeable guidance, and plenty of chances to ask questions and share fun birding experiences!
